I had never met Poppy but I was aware of her work, and admired her from afar. I'd heard her speak about grief on a podcast, and talk about her creativity. Her words really touched me. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Poppy sounds like she was an amazing person. Your piece brings her VIVIDLY to life and your writing is sublime.
I think the best any of us can ask for is that when we go, that our friends and loved ones celebrate our presence in their lives. You do this wondrously and I am sorry for your loss while also being happy for the time you spent in each other’s lives.
A beautiful and heart felt piece about things that matter! About the way one person makes us feel, about the impact it has on our lives, about the unpredictable life, about humanity! Thank you for sharing the story and Poppy's legacy!
Your words paint a vivid tribute to Poppy. Her spirit shines brightly through your memories and reflections. She was truly remarkable, and her legacy lives on through the beauty she created. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt remembrance.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend's passing. Losing a friend so young is a very hard thing. Years ago I lost a friend, when we were both 29. His art still makes me smile though. I hope you will take joy in the memories and Poppy's wonderful art too.
I am so sorry. Poppy left her mark as a beautiful, artistic soul. Thank you for sharing her beautiful art. How lucky you were too have her friendship. I lost my little brother unexpectedly (he was 26) to an accident and I still struggle with the…should I have tried harder to be in touch/see him before it was all over; we were great friends. Thank you for sharing Poppy’s story, I’m so glad she lives on in her fantastic art. ❤️
I’m so sorry to hear about your brother Jenn. I’ve lost two sisters. It’s something we’ll always carry with us. Thanks so much for taking the time to share 🙏
I’ll be thinking of Poppy today, David, and with gratitude for you sharing just a shadow of her spirit.
The message you’re conveying too here is so eerily timely for me, as I reckon it likely is for many in this community. Stop thinking, just do. It’s exceptionally hard, and also—the only way.
Thanks for writing this. I found her death so shocking, a great reminder to make the most of life.
Beautiful - both. Very right too! Enjoy the moment 🙏🏻❤️
This was beautiful, thank you for sharing ❤️

So sad reading this. Poppy sounds like a really incredible person - and nothing can take away the pain of such a loss.
But the only small consolation is you writing such a wonderful tribute, and helping to keep her memory alive.
Sending you my sincerest condolences.

What a beautiful connection to have David.
Poppy’s art is stunning and I’m so glad to have discovered it today.
We lost our friend last month. Tragic and preventable circumstances. I designed him a t-shirt at the weekend. Art heals. 💜

Having art left behind is so special, I’m glad my friends are creative!
I have just lost a friend too in her early forties to cancer. She too was a creative. I hear you xx
Her artwork is beautiful. My publication is called Memeto Mori, but nevermind that. I'm sorry for your loss, it seems like she was a wonderful person!
Feeling you on this - I lost a friend earlier this year. On his birthday. It wasn’t illness related but no-one expected it.
It makes the concept of “your time is finite” hit so much harder.
Sorry for your loss brother 🙏
David this is such a beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing your story and reflection. I send you my deepest condolences.
Ah thank you so much mate. I genuinely appreciate it 🙏
